Amrit (Arabic: عمريت), the classical Marathus (, Marathos), was a Phoenician port located near present-day Tartus in Syria. Founded in the third millenniumBC, Marat (, ) was the northernmost important city of ancient Phoenicia and a rival of nearby Arwad.
